Sign the petition to prevent gun violence!

Two weeks ago, a shooter opened fire from a hotel window in Las Vegas, killing 58 people and leaving more than 500 injured. It was the deadliest mass shooting in American history.

This attack prompted a renewed conversation about what we can do to reduce and prevent gun violence in America. We all know there are a lot of things we can and must do – starting with universal background checks and an assault weapons ban. The Las Vegas shooting highlighted another step we need to take immediately – banning the sale of so-called “bump stocks,” the device that allowed the shooter to convert his rifle into what was essentially a fully-automatic machine gun.

Banning bump stocks should be a no-brainer. It’s not the only thing we need to do, but it’s one step we can take immediately to save lives and protect our police officers and first responders.

Sign the petition to tell Congress to ban the sale of bump stocks!

The media may have moved on to other stories and the Las Vegas shooting may no longer be on the front of people’s minds – but I haven’t forgotten and I will never forget. I’m going to keep working to get this done, and then I’m going to keep working to pass the other common-sense laws we need to end the epidemic of gun violence in America.

A tragedy like this calls for immediate action – not business as usual. Sign the petition to tell Congress to take commonsense steps to prevent gun violence!
