I’m calling the NRA out

The leaders of the NRA have been promoting apocalyptic videos that suggest our nation is on the brink of a civil war. They’re encouraging people to arm themselves and prepare for violence against political activists and the free press.

That’s outrageous. And it’s unacceptable. I recently said that the NRA’s leadership is becoming a threat to the domestic security of our country. No matter how many times they call for my resignation (I’ve lost count), I’ll keep standing by that statement – because it’s the truth.

Add your name: Condemn the NRA’s violent message.

The harrowing events in Charlottesville left all of us shaken. White supremacists carried Nazi flags, Trump signs, and posters with racial slurs. They attacked counter-protesters, killing one young woman by driving a car into the crowd.

What’s the connection? Many of these neo-Nazi and white supremacists were as heavily armed as the NRA advised. The NRA is fanning the flames of civil unrest – and we must stand up to them.

Join me and add your name to condemn the NRA’s leadership!

Let me be clear: I support the rights of responsible, law-abiding gun owners, including the vast majority of NRA members. But the NRA’s leadership is fomenting fear and encouraging hateful and unstable individuals to arm themselves for an imaginary threat.

Law-abiding gun owners and NRA members should disavow their message of violence. Sign the petition to stand up to the NRA!
